Bank Wire / Fund Transfer Procedure

I hear from many people about the wire transfer procedures for many banks. I know this is a problem when you are trying to make a wire transfer first time. Here is a detailed wire transfer procedure for Chase bank (just as a reference) while it would be almost similar for any bank wire:

1. Information you need:

To wire money, you will first need to register for the service and then set your beneficiaries or recipients. To set up whom you want to pay, you will need the following information from the Recipient:
  • Recipient Name

  • Recipient Account number

  • Recipient Mailing address with city, region, country and postal zip code

  • Recipient Bank Routing/Swift number

  • US/Foreign dollar amount to be transferred

  •   Once you set up the Recipient Information you will just need to select that name from your list of Recipients.

    2.  How to proceed with Wire Transfer:

If you are currently a Online banking customer, follow these steps:
  • Log on to Online banking account

  • Go to the Payment and Transfers page

  • Click the Wire Transfers tab

  • Click the Activate Wire Transfer Service Link

  • Accept the Wires Legal Agreement

  • Similar procedure with a little variation would be followed for any of the banks.

Hope this helps you all trying to make wire transfers first time.
